About Viswa Odia Mahasangha

"Together for Compassion, Together for Change."

Viswa Odia Mahasangha (VOM) is a global, non-profit organisation dedicated to uniting Odias across the world with a shared mission — to serve humanity, uplift the underprivileged, and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Odisha.

Rooted in compassion (karuna) and inspired by the timeless values of our land, VOM works tirelessly across sectors such as healthcare, education, disaster management, employment generation, hunger relief, and social welfare. We believe every human being, regardless of circumstance, deserves dignity, opportunity, and hope.

For the past 27 years in Mumbai and Odisha, Odia volunteers have been working relentlessly to make this vision a reality. VOM has evolved into a single-window support system for Odia patients arriving in Mumbai, especially those suffering from critical illnesses like heart ailments and cancer. We arrange doctors, blood, platelets, attendants, accommodation for patients and their families, and coordinate with BMC, railways, and airport authorities during emergencies.

Regular blood and platelet donation camps are organized to save lives, while a unique initiative connects Odia youth with employment opportunities through references of our well-placed professional volunteers. Our humanitarian spirit shines during natural disasters like floods and cyclones, where VOM teams tirelessly provide relief and rehabilitation.

Beyond welfare, we are equally committed to celebrating and promoting Odia culture by organizing festivals such as Karthik Purnima, Bisuba Sankranti, Kumar Purnima, Raja Parba, and Rath Yatra, ensuring Odias worldwide feel connected to their roots.

VOM is not just an organisation — it is a movement of compassion, unity, and service. With every member, volunteer, and supporter, we continue to build a legacy of hope and pride.
